Emilie
Theis
Emilie Theis, MPH, BSN-RN is a reproductive health clinician and public health leader whose career is built on expanding access.
Emilie began her career in direct patient care as a registered nurse, earning her BSN from Indiana University - Bloomington. While working in direct patient care, she earned her Master of Public Health from Indiana University - Indianapolis, completing the degree in 2016.
She went on to lead clinical operations for Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, managing a network of 26 health centers across both states. In that role, she oversaw licensing, quality assurance, staff, and clinical services across all 26 sites, and on occasion, provided direct nursing care to patients seeking abortion services.
Following her son's birth in 2019, Emilie helped launch PATH4YOU, a statewide program providing Hoosiers with free contraception. She continues to support PATH4YOU and partner PACs across the country working to build political power for reproductive rights, bringing the perspective of someone who has lived and worked on the front lines of a state with a near-total abortion ban.
Outside of her advocacy work, Emilie has served as a CASA volunteer and runs the PTO at her son's school. She lives with her husband and three children, and is the 2024 Indiana State Fair first-place winner for coconut cake.
